Olympic Weightlifting Workshop
Join us at URBAN Southport for an Olympic Weightlifting Workshop on Saturday 17th February with Barbell & Weightlifting Coach Extraordinaire Callum Hannay, owner of The Burleigh Barbell Club.
During the 2 hour specialised workshop, athletes will go through the following:
8:30am arrival & set up
9:00am Intro & Snatch session
- Warm up/ mobility work
- Snatch Progressions
- Snatch Barbell Cycling
15 Minute Break
10:15am Clean & Jerk Session
- Jerk (Press/Push Press/ Push Jerk & Split Jerk)
- Clean Progressions
- Clean & Jerk Full Movements
- Option of Snatch or C&J to heavy 1RM
Q & A to conclude
$50 for 2-hour workshop

What to bring on the day:
Attendees will need to bring are their lifters (if you have them), water bottle, and any other equipment you may use while lifting (thumb tape, lifting belts etc)
Meet your coach – Callum Hannay, Burleigh Barbell Club Owner & Olympic Weightlifting Coach
Hi, I'm Callum from Burleigh Barbell club. I have been coaching weightlifting for 11 years now and have recently celebrated Burleigh Barbell's 5th birthday.
In our short history we have created multiple State and National champions and record holders as well as Australian representatives across multiple ages groups.
I am an AWF Level 3 National level coach and have represented Queensland as Head coach and Assistant coach consistently over the past 11 years as well as being a member of the QWA (Queensland Weightlifting Association) Committee for 6 years.
I really believe that movement, specifically the weightlifting movements are for all, and I endeavour daily to help people pursue their goals and help them along in their fitness journey. Whether it be to get to the World Championships, CrossFit Games or be able to chase their grandkids around the park, I'm here to help.
